Food From The Heart

What is Food From The Heart? 

Food From The Heart is a community food drive in which Northside partners with Shandon Baptist Church, WLTX, 89.7 WMHK, Harvest Hope Food Bank, and numerous area grocery stores, we are on mission to put a huge dent in the hunger problem of Richland and Lexington counties.   

Last year during Food From The Heart, Northside raised over 27 tons (yes, TONS!) of food and nonperishable items for Harvest Hope Food Bank and midlands-area pantries. We intend to raise as much or more in 2010, and we need volunteers of all ages. Our goal is to have volunteers at 20 Lexington County grocery stores, volunteers transporting donations from stores to Harvest Hope, and volunteers helping the staff of Harvest Hope to sort the overwhelming amount of donations during the two weeks following.
