At the age of 7 I walked an aisle and prayed a prayer led by the pastor, but nothing ever penetrated my heart. I was a good kid, grew up in a Christian home, lived the “Christian” life. Then when I was 13 my father died at the age of 45 of a massive heart attack. I remember praying on my knees that night. It seemed like forever, but nothing happened. I was very angry and bitter towards God. I turned away from church, and from God, and never really wanted to go back. I had a student pastor come and meet with me in my home and built a relationship with me. For that reason and that reason alone, I went back to church. God was working through me and at the age of 16 was when I truly gave my life to Christ. It wasn't about my actions or me earning things, it was about God's grace and the free gift he gave to me.
I felt God calling me into the ministry a short time later, I was 18 at the time, and I did not want to go in that direction. I have always had great respect for pastors, but never truly saw myself as one. God put different passions and desires in my life. I remember the first time preaching to students and praying, God, if this is what you want me to do with my life, give me a huge sign. That night 3 students gave their lives to Christ. From that moment on, I promised God wherever He wanted me, I would follow.
I am from Rogers, Arkansas and grew up at Cross Church. Kathryn and I were married March 23, 2013. She is an amazing woman of God who has a passion for girl's ministry. I am blessed to have her by my side serving students as we see many students follow Christ. I recently ministered at Trinity Baptist Church in Lake Charles, Louisiana. I was blessed to be used by God to reach over 400 students there weekly. I was there for 2 ½ years before God lead us to Northside. I believe God is going to do great things through the students in this area. I am crazy enough to believe that a handful of students can change their schools and areas for Christ.

Best thing about ministry: Watching a student go from dark to light. Nothing is more exciting to watch and lead a student to the Lord.
Factoid: I didn't learn how to swim until i was 16.
