Joshua 16-21 “Living With Blessings” December 7-11, 2009 Spend time in God’s Word each day this week. Allow Him to guide your path and prepare you for the weekend Bible Study. MONDAY
• • • • • Read (Joshua 16:1-17:18; James 1:2; Romans 5:3) What do you know about Joy? What arenas of Joy have “occupied” your life? Are you able to “consider it pure joy,…whenever we face trials of many kinds”? Does your joy depend on your circumstances? Today journal your responses to how much of the territory of joy you have occupied”. Ask God to allow you to “occupy” the entire land of Joy in your life. Read (Joshua 18:1-28; John 14:13; John16:24) What do you know about prayer? Have you “occupied” the land of prayer? Do you see the results of your prayer life? Does your prayer life glorify God? Does it bring you happiness? Today, come up with a plan (a daily and/or weekly schedule) to help you “occupy” the land of prayer in your life. Ask God for wisdom, desire, and a need to realize the importance of constant communication with the Father.

Read (Joshua 19:1-51; Romans 12:2) What do you know about Submission? Have you submitted to the will of God in your life? Do you delight in your submission to God or is it a duty to you? Do you “test and approve what God’s will is-His good, pleasing and perfect will”? Today in prayer and meditation, Journal how much of the land of Submission has been “occupied” in your life. Ask God to break you into a realm of complete submission to His authority and to develop in you the delight of living a submitting life to His Word and His ways. Read Joshua 20

What was the purpose of the cities of refuge? What would be the equivalent of this today? Why is this important? Ask God to give you insight into this passage and how you can apply it to your life this week.
Read Joshua 21:1-45; Numbers 8:17,18; 1 Corinthians 6:19-20. .

What was the purpose of the cities of refuge?
Define redemption. How did the Levitical Priests represent redemption to the Jews? How do you and I represent redemption to our sphere of influence? Re-write 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 in your own words. Meditate on this passage. How are you doing as God’s representative of redemption? Journal how you can re-align your life with this passage. Thank God for His redemption today.
