Encouraging One Another 1 Thessalonians 5:11; Hebrews 10:25 March 8-12, 2010
Monday – Read Hebrews 10:25
• • • To whom is the writer speaking? What does the verse command? What reason is given for this commandment?
Tuesday – Read 1 Thes. 5:11 • What are we commanded to do? (See verse 11a) • Why should we do this? (See verse 10) • What is the result? (See verse 11b) • Reflect on this command, how much of an encourager are you? Wednesday – Read Hebrews 12:2 – 4 • Why do we need to encourage each other? • In our struggle with sin, in our attempt to keep our eyes fixed on Jesus, is it easier alone or with others of the same mind? • Think about the times in your Christian walk when you needed encouragement. Did it come? If so, how did you respond? If not, do you think it would have made a difference? Thursday – Read Hebrews 10:25 & 1 Thes. 5:11 • These verses are simple and clear teachings. • Meditate on your life as an encourager. How do you react to these opportunities? • Pray that God would reveal your heart on this to you. Ask him to develop this in you if you are not prone to encourage others. Friday – Read Hebrews 12:2 - 4 • As we close this week, let us prayerfully meditate on the object of our faith and the difficulties we encounter in doing so. • Let us also meditate on how each of our brothers and sisters in Christ have the same struggles as we do in keeping our eyes fixed on Jesus. • Now, let us in prayer, seek that God would give us a heart to encourage each other, that he would open our eyes to these opportunities, and in doing so the body of Christ would grow stronger.
