TIME OF PRAISE AND THANKSGIVING
(5 MINUTES)
An essential part of relationship with God is the daily (or regular) time of worship and praise. After all, our primary purpose is to praise and worship the Father.
Pause to reflect on the following scriptures as you praise and worship God.
TIME OF CONFESSION AND REPENTANCE
(5 MINUTES)
After you have spent time in genuine praise and worship, you are ready to enter a period of confession and cleansing. Consistent confession is the primary way we receive God’s forgiveness and maintain a Spirit-filled life.
This is what the Sovereign LORD, the Holy One of Israel, says: “In repentance and rest is your salvation, in quietness and trust is your strength.” Isaiah 30:15 There is not a righteous man on earth who does what is right and never sins. Ecclesiastes 7:20
♥ Ask the Spirit to search your heart and reveal any areas of
unconfessed sin. Acknowledge these to the Lord, turn from them, and thank Him for His forgiveness.
I will exalt You, my God and King; I will bless your name for ever and ever. Every day I will bless You, and I will praise Your name for ever and ever. Great are You, Lord, and most worthy of praise; Your greatness is unsearchable. Psalm 145:1-3
I rejoice in the knowledge that one day, every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and on the sea and all that is in them will sing of You, Almighty King: “To Him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb be blessing and honor and glory and power for ever and ever!” Revelation 5:13
TIME OF MEDITATION
(4 MINUTES)
In its essence, meditation is simply the practice of listening to God’s voice as He speaks through His Word and prayer; ask God to speak to your heart.
I meditate on your precepts and consider your ways. I delight in your decrees; I will not neglect your Word. Walking in the way of Your laws, O Lord, I wait for You; Your name and Your renown are the desire of my soul. Isaiah 26:8
Psalms 119:15-16 ♥ Sit quietly and wait for God to speak. Remember, our God is a personal God and He speaks to His children.
(It’s a great idea to keep a prayer journal so you can write down any impressions or Scriptures God impresses on your Spirit.)

that they would be wise in their decisions. God, I pray for Mike’s dad, that You would provide a job for him. I also pray for Sarah’s sister-inlaw Julie, as she goes through her pregnancy, that the baby would be healthy. I pray that their marriage and love would abound in you Jesus! Thank you!

Heavenly Father, we praise You because You are the maker and sustainer of relationships. You have shown us through Your Word how to order our steps, You have promised to keep us. In You we find our safety and security. In You we discover extravagant love! Guide the Ford family, Father, as they seek to keep You first in all they do. Direct their thoughts and actions as they look for ways to encourage and care about each other and to live by example the type of relationship that You desire to have with Your Bride. Let their children find comfort and security in the love and companionship that David and Lori model daily for them. Convict them when they act rashly and fail to show grace. Help them not miss any teachable moment. Help them, Father to leave a legacy in their children that You will be proud of and that will continue for generations to come! Father we know that You are the ultimate provider and You know what we have need of before we even ask, but I do ask that You would provide wisdom and direction in the Ford Family’s every day stewardship decisions of time, talent, and treasures. Bring each member of David and Lori’s family to a point where there is a visible testimony showing a heart focused on You. ♥ Doug, Sheila and Kayla. Lord, I pray that Doug would daily deny himself, take up his cross, and follow you. I pray that he would worship and serve You in a way that brings you glory and honor. I pray that you would bless him, his family, and his ministry. Please continue to move supernaturally in all areas of his life. God, please bless Sheila and continue to transform her into the image of Christ. I pray that you would use her in a mighty way and that her life would be a strong testimony to your love and grace. Lord, please bless Kayla and draw her close to You. Give her a heart after You and help her to see her need for a Savior. ♥ Beth, William, Carson, Jackson and Anderson. Lord, I pray that You

Fill Rocky with your spirit as he seeks to lead your church. Give him the voice of a prophet as he preaches, the heart of a shepherd as he ministers, and the wisdom of Solomon as he leads and makes decisions. Use him to challenge us to be the church you want us to be. Protect him from the attack of the enemy. Don’t let him grow weary in well doing. Bless Sherrie as she walks hand in hand with our Pastor. Bless their marriage and help their love and devotion be an example to our church. Guide and protect each of their children. Give them a heart for you Lord. Specifically be with Joshua as he finishes up his final year of High School and Mary Beth as she works to find her niche at college. ♥ David (Schrodt), Katy, Josiah, Jacob, Callie, and Caleb. Lord, I pray that David would find wisdom and gain understanding (Proverbs 3:13).I pray that Your friendly counsel will be over his house (Job 29:4). Help him to act justly, love mercy and walk humbly with You (Micah 6:8).” I pray that You would give David and Katy wisdom as they raise their children and that they would be living examples of God’s love to them. May their children grow up in the nurture and admonition of You. Help them to discern right from wrong and always protect them from the enemy. Lord, I pray for David’s sister, Debbie, that she would no longer be deceived by the devil and that her heart would soften to Your truth. I ask that You would give David wisdom and clear direction as he plans the services and shepherds those under his care. ♥ Scott, Tracey, Garrett, and Jessica . Lord I pray for Scott in his daily ministries at Northside. I pray for him as he sets goals with our staff. Give him wisdom in decisions, in encouraging, and in ministering to each. Give him wisdom and understanding as he meets with individual members and as he prepares and studies for his weekly LIFE Group meeting. Guide him in his leadership role within our Future Development projects and as he works with the Future Development Team during this critical ground breaking time at our new location. Be with him as we continue to refine the budget for the relocation project. Lord I pray that Scott will be salt and light to all the subcontractors who will be working at the property within these coming months. I pray that he will share the Truth of God’s love within every interaction and encounter. ♥ Steve, Karen, Sarah, David, Kevin, Michael,Jennifer & Nathan. I pray that Steve would be filled with the knowledge of Your will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding and that he would walk in a manner ‘worthy of the Lord’ and that he would please You in all respects. Help him to bear fruit in every good work. I pray that Steve will increase in his knowledge of You. I pray that Steve’s children would be champions for Christ. That he and Karen would grow closer to one another and closer to You. ♥ Mike and Sarah. God, I pray for Mike and Sarah. I pray that they would live lives that are led completely by Your Holy Spirit. I pray their lives would be a direct reflection of your love and that you would protect them, guide them, and provide for them. Lord, I pray, that as people watch them, that they would be drawn into a relationship with You. I pray that Mike would be the leader, and husband You have called him to be. I pray that He would lead with honesty, and integrity. I pray that Sarah would submit daily to Your will for her life. I pray that she would be the helpmate You have called her to be. Father God, I pray, that together they would stand in awe of Your goodness and grace. I pray
would equip and bless Beth as she leads our preschool ministry. Give her wisdom, insight, and peace as she cares for her family. Help her to minister to the preschool teachers, volunteers, and parents. Bless William in his work. Give Carson wisdom concerning college and scholarship applications. Show your favor and bless this process. Give Carson, Jackson and Anderson an understanding of Your word that would create in each of them a servants heart and a hunger to know You more. Lord, may they grow as Jesus grew in wisdom, stature, and favor with men. ♥ Pastor J.O. Reed and Mary Duke. Lord please keep Pastor Joe healthy
and bring fruitfulness in his ministry as he continues to serve You.

PRAY FOR OUR RELOCATION ♥ Lord, as we break ground at our new location, help us to move forward as one body, united in purpose. Give us a vision of what You have planned for us as we “take the land” for Your glory. ♥ Guide our architect, builder and consultant as we move forward with our design and construction. ♥ Help us to be a witness to every person who works on our project. Lord, I pray that many workers will come to know You as their Savior and Lord as we have the opportunity to minister and witness to them. ♥ Lord I pray that we’ll receive the approval from Lexington for the reader board on the property which will allow us to promote upcoming events— so that many will hear the gospel. ♥ Lord, provide us with a buyer for our existing property. PRAY THAT WE WILL BECOME A WORSHIPPING CHURCH ♥ 2 Corinthians. 3:17 ...where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. Lord God, I pray that everyone will worship freely during our services. That as Your Spirit moves among us, we will have the freedom to respond. ♥ Your Word says in Psalm 9:2 “I will be glad and rejoice in you; I will sing praise to your name.” Lord help me to approach worship with joy and give me a desire to sing praises to Your name. ♥ Father, I pray for those in the Celebration Choir and Praise Band—that they will grow in holiness so that each week they are prepared to lead people into the very ‘throne room of God’. I pray that the music done each Sunday (in both services) will bring glory to You and edify the church. I pray that genuine, heartfelt worship will take place. ♥ Jesus, I pray that Northside will become a ‘HOUSE OF PRAYER’. That many in our church would be humbled to fall on their faces before you. ♥ I pray that those who come searching will see our passionate love for Jesus by our corporate worship.

Rehearse daily, in each child’s mind, the truths that have been taught, and cause them to seek You above all else! We thank You for keeping Your promises and praise You for Your faithfulness. ♥ STUDENT MINISTRY - The Bible tells us that the Heavens declare the glory of God and the skies proclaim the works of His hands…thank You God that You are Holy, that You are eternal, that You are all knowing, and You are all powerful. Thank You that You created 350 billion galaxies, yet You are so intimately involved in our lives. You hold the universe Lord!! Father God, I pray for our student ministry - I pray for the Pursuit, Journey and Ncounter. I pray that our students’ in middle school through college will learn and grow in their faith, and would be sharing their faith with their friends. Lord, I pray for our leadership team. I pray that we continue to unite, and grow together. Lord I pray that You mold us and guide us as we lead this ministry! I pray for more leaders to be involved in middle school and college! I pray that our students would be burdened for their unsaved friends!! Lord, I pray for our upcoming events. I pray for our Super Bowl Party; that we would have an incredible time of fun and fellowship! I pray for our High school guy’s discipleship weekend, that our guys would learn their Bible and grow in their faith. Lord, I pray for our Silver Ring Thing Purity event on the 21st of February. I pray that 1000 students would come from all across the state and take a stand for purity centered in a relationship with Jesus Christ!! I pray that lives would be changed here daily at Northside; I pray that we would be the church we read about in the book of Acts! ♥ COLLEGE MINISTRY— Father, we continue to pray for students in our colleges. I ask that You give Northside a plan to connect the thousands of college students in the Midlands with the life changing message of Jesus Christ. Raise up leaders to work in our College ministry. Father I pray for our upcoming Beach Reach trip March 6-12. I pray that many of our college students would plan to go and that even now, You are working in the hearts and lives of those with whom our students will share the Gospel. ♥ ADULT MINISTRY / LIFEGROUPS— Lord, we give praise for new believers who desire to worship You and experience genuine community through our LIFE Group ministry. I pray that our LIFE Groups would develop a passion for reaching the lost. That every LIFE Group would see new believers attending. That we will hunger for the Word of God. I pray that the teachers would teach beyond their own power, in the power of the Holy Spirit. I pray that each LIFE Group would develop a plan to be on mission with God in their Jerusalem, Judea and Samaria, and to the very ends of the earth. I pray that God would raise up leaders in every LIFE Group to lead this missions effort. Lord help our LIFE Groups be a place where we put into practice the ’one anothers’ of scripture. Help us to truly love one another, encourage one another, bear one anothers burdens... ♥ WOMEN’S MINISTRY— Father, we pray for the leadership team as they prepare for the New Year. Please give them wisdom as they plan events that will reach out to women in our community. Guide them as they organize classes that will help edify the saints and be an effective outreach to other women. I pray for Elizabeth Gressette, that she would be filled with wisdom as she leads this team. ♥ MUSIC MINISTRY - Lord, I pray that You would move in people’s hearts to serve in the choir and orchestra so that it can grow and be a blessing to the congregation and glorify You. May everyone involved in the music ministry truly grasp what it means to worship You in spirit and in truth. Lord, as those who lead the rest of the congregation before Your throne, may they lead with integrity and character. Help them to use their talents to honor You and to give You their very best. May they never offer to You anything that cost them nothing (2 Samuel 24:24). ♥ RECREATION MINSTRY— God, I pray for the Upward Basketball & Cheerleading league that is going on this month. I pray Lord God that You will move in a mighty way through everyone involved. I pray that those that don’t know You would; and that those who do know You will know You better. Bless all the volunteers and speak through them so that Your name would be lifted up and lives would be changed.
PRAY FOR OUR MINISTRIES TO PEOPLE IN ALL AGES AND STAGES OF LIFE
♥ PRESCHOOL MINISTRY—We praise You Lord for Your continued
blessings and provisions. Thank You Lord for our faithful and loving leadership. Bless them for their service to You and to our families. Thank You for the volunteers and resources that you continue to provide. We pray that You would speak to the heart of Your people and tender their hearts to the needs of Your most precious children. Thank You that all of these who serve in preschool ministry provide a place where children are loved, they are safe, and they are accepted. Lord help us to continue to glorify You in our service and teaching of Your children. Help us to partner with parents as we teach Biblical truths that will build a strong foundation.
♥ CHILDREN’S MINISTRY—I praise you Father, for Your abundant provision of talented teachers for our first Rotation on “God’s Work in Progress!” Thank You for the excitement that is seen on children’s faces each week, and for the positive testimonies that have been heard in the feedback from parents. I thank You for the teachers that You are preparing now for our next rotation on the life of Joshua, as we study the truth that “Character Counts.” I pray that You bind Satan from the attacks that he places each family on Sunday mornings in an attempt to keep them from the fellowship only found among the body of believers. I pray that You would continue to build the members of Northside into a true family of faith that sees and meets needs through the power and direction of Your Holy Spirit. I pray for each Shepherd and Teacher that will minister to a child through Northside, that You would keep hearts humble, ears open, and Your word fresh so that
♥ FIRST IMPRESSIONS MINISTRY— Lord, I pray that visitors to our church will see the love and grace of Christ and feel welcomed and appreciated. I pray that our church will be united in being part of welcoming those visiting our church and that many will find their place of service in the first impressions ministry. ♥ PRAYER MINISTRY— Father, I pray that we will fill the remaining slots on the “Wall”. Give us a heart for prayer. I pray that others will join us for our time of pre-service prayer on Sunday mornings as we pray over the sanctuary and sprung inviting the Holy Spirit to fall on us. I also ask that You would raise up Intercessory Prayer Room warriors as we cover our members in prayer according to their needs. PRAY FOR THE FOLLOWING SPECIFIC NEEDS REGARDING OUR CHURCH:
♥ Father, I pray that You will make us a church of tithers and givers so that we can be under Your blessing and not Your curse. Please help those who are in financial bondage to be set free by our “Financial Peace” ministry as they learn to apply biblical principles to their lives. Lord, I pray that as we begin the new sermon series on ‘Recovery’, that you would move among our people and break whatever chains of bondage may be in their lives. I pray for unity and clear purpose within our Northside family of faith, that in every step, ultimately You will be glorified and that Your will be done.

Hendrix Mobile Home Park – Father I pray that You would be glorified through this ministry. Please open the eyes in this community to Your truth and draw these people unto Yourself. I pray for steadfastness of the workers and pray that others would catch the vision and come alongside.
SOUTH CAROLINA & UNITED STATES
♥ Lord, we pray that you will be with our sister churches, First Baptist West Columbia and State Street Baptist. Mold them into churches you can bless. ♥ Lord be with Johnny Hunt as he leads the Southern Baptist Convention as we prepare for our annual meeting in June. Give him wisdom as he encourages us to fulfill the Great Commission. ♥ Be with the North American Mission Board as they search for a new president.
UTTERMOST PARTS
♥ Lord, thank you for the godly leadership of Jerry Rankin at the International Mission
Board. Bless him as he prepares for retirement and lead us to the man you have prepared to take his place. South Asia—Awadhi people—Lord, I pray that there will be a great harvest among this people group. Please be with Devaraju, a national pastor, as he works with the team to plant churches to reach the Awadhi people. I pray for those in our church who will be going on the mission trip (March 11-20). Prepare their hearts and minds, even now, for what You have in store for them as they share the Gospel. Moldova—Father, I pray that You will raise up and guide those You’re calling to go on this trip to reach the many in bondage to religion in this country but who do not have a relationship with Jesus Christ. I pray for Shaun and Rachel Reynolds, IMB missionaries to Moldova, that their 6 month stateside time will give them much needed rest and refreshment with family and friends. The persecuted church—I pray that You will strengthen and encourage national believers in those countries where believers suffer and die for their faith in Jesus Christ. Wycliffe Bible Translators— (Today about 200 million people do not have the Bible in their own language.) Father, I pray for Your help in guiding Wycliffe to see the Bible accessible to all people in the language they understand best. Give them wisdom as they focus on community development, literacy development and church partnerships.

Acts 1:8 “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” ♥ I pray for our Global Missions Celebration that You will raise the value of
Your mission in the hearts and minds of every believer at Northside so that they will commit to pray, give and participate in your glorious mission. ♥ I pray for the leaders in each LIFE Group department that You would empower them to lead their departments in developing a mission playbook or strategy that will guide them to actively be “on mission” as a department in 2010. ♥ I pray for our GMC Speakers: Wednesday night Kick-Off Celebration—Dr. Nik Ripken, who has done considerable research on the worldwide persecuted church. For our Sunday morning Worship Service—Gordon Fort, International Mission Board’s vice-president of Overseas Global Strategies. ♥ I pray that the Saturday afternoon conference on February 6 will be well attended by LIFE Group members so that the information they get will help them develop a mission playbook or strategy that will guide them to be actively “on mission with God” as a department in 2010.
