Our Pastor has experienced both the joy of being raised in a Christian home and the pain of rebelling against the Lord. Born and raised in a Pastor’s family in Hartsville SC, Pastor Rocky had a life changing experience at an early age.
My Story – a brief (very brief synopsis of coming to faith and call to ministry)
My calling to ministry started taking place even before I was born. My Father was born premature and they really didn’t expect him to live. My Grandmother, my father’s mother, was very strong in her faith. Obviously, my father lived. My grandmother felt because he spared my father’s life that he would be called to fulltime Christian Ministry.
I grew up in a God fearing home and I received Christ as my Savior at the age of seven. I was in church every Sunday morning and night and on Wednesday night (my church was Bellevue Baptist Church, pastor, Adrian Rogers). I was very active in the music ministry, serving in children’s choirs, youth choirs, adult choirs, and handbell choirs. I also attended a Christian school from 1st grade all the way through graduation.
I came to Christ at a student pizza party. I went there for fun, but the Lord had another purpose—to save me from my sins. My life was transformed and within the first year of my Christian life, I felt God’s call to ministry. It was here at Northside where that calling became a reality. I have been a member at Northside since 1994 and joined the staff in August 0f 2001. Northside is a special church family to me and I thank God for placing me here.
Mike D'Attoma grew up in Kansas City, Missouri and moved to Columbus, Ohio as a junior in high school. He accepted Jesus as His Lord and Savior January 15, 2001. He has a heart for student ministry, and his passion is watching students thrive in their relationship with the Lord. Mike's passion is to preach the Gospel, and watch God work through it as it radically transforms lives all around him.
David is excited to be working with kids from all over the Lexington/West Columbia area! He grew up in Kansas City where he met Jesus at the age of 6 years. It was on a mission trip to South Africa that David came face to face with God’s call to work specifically with children.
